Providing a relevant direct mailing campaign takes critical determination of recipient data. Mailing lists are just the beginning — extrapolating information from data is where the need for analytics comes from. For instance, the insurance company looking to advertise new policy options for boat owners needs to find recipients that meet their initial criteria. A resident who does not own a boat will not gain anything from their mail, will not respond, and therefore is not relevant. Choosing a list of residents who are registered boat owners would be much more effective.

Data mining can offer lists tailored to your criteria, while providing as much information as possible to enhance your message. Information and data are the key to relevancy.
